AI sales roleplay software: practice the skill your calls expose

Upload or paste a call transcript. RepVolt identifies up to three weaknesses in your approach, explains why they matter, and shows how to improve them using moments from your call. The free analysis stops before rehearsal. On a paid plan or trial, rehearsal is available only when the main coaching need has a matching drill. It uses a new fictional scenario in text or optional browser voice and does not pretend to recreate the buyer. Check a later call to see whether the behavior carried over.

  1. Start here
    Size the weekly rework

The buyer names the people and frequency, but the volume question never lands.

  2. Next
    Confirm who owns adoption

The call names adoption risk without identifying the decision owner.

Paid rehearsal

On a paid plan or trial, rehearse the main coaching need only when it has a matching drill, with buyer context, guidance as you go, and a way back when it goes sideways.

RepVolt rehearsal for Avery Cole's first discovery fix with a new fictional buyer, turn-by-turn feedback, a suggested response, and a recovery route

What is AI sales roleplay?

AI sales roleplay is turn-by-turn practice in a generated sales scenario. In RepVolt, the scenario supplies a fictional buyer role and a relevant prompt. You can type each turn or use optional browser voice controls. It is practice for a behavior, not a stand-in for a real conversation.

The concept isn't new. Sales teams have role-played since the 1960s. What's new is that a generated scenario can respond to the rep's last turn and stay on a defined skill. On a paid plan or trial, rehearsal is available only when a practice exercise matches your main coaching need. RepVolt saves a 0 to 100 rehearsal score when that session ends. That score describes the attempt; it does not predict what a real buyer will do.

But most AI roleplay tools miss the point. They give you a random scenario ("You're selling CRM software to a VP of Marketing") and let you practice. That can help with a general skill. It is less useful when a recent call already shows a specific behavior the rep wants to change.

Upload or paste a call transcript. RepVolt uses that call review, not a persona library.

How paid rehearsal works when a drill is ready

RepVolt turns a completed sales call transcript into personalized feedback and guidance on how to improve. On a paid plan or trial, rehearsal is available only when a practice exercise matches your main coaching need. Here is each step.

1. Upload or paste a call transcript

The free analysis and paid workspace both accept a common transcript file or pasted text. On a paid plan or trial, you can also sync a completed transcript from Fireflies or have another recorder send it through your secure transcript connection. We do not take audio.

2. Read the exact moments behind the coaching

When the transcript supports a coaching note, RepVolt shows the call line and roughly where it happened. Read the exchange first so you can judge whether the note fits the conversation.

3. RepVolt explains what to improve first from the call

You get the behavior, why it matters, and an example response to try. Where RepVolt can point at a call line, the quote sits with the note. Where it cannot, it says so instead of inventing evidence.

4. Start the rehearsal when it is ready

On a paid plan or trial, rehearsal is available only when a practice exercise matches your main coaching need. RepVolt creates a new fictional scenario around that behavior. It does not replay your original conversation, impersonate the prospect, or predict their response. You can type each turn or use optional browser voice controls.

If implementation timelines exposed a value-articulation gap, the practice scenario gives you another focused opportunity to work that skill. You rehearse the behavior that needs to change rather than a random, unrelated drill.

On a paid plan or trial, a matching drill for the main coaching need gives you three focused minutes of rehearsal.

5. Use scores as supporting context

RepVolt scores the call for the role and call type, so an SDR cold call is not graded like an AE discovery call. It also saves a 0 to 100 result for the rehearsal. If it has a before and after rehearsal score, the debrief shows both. If it has only one, it shows that one instead of inventing improvement. See the scored skills.

The difference: Other tools start with practice. Upload or paste a call transcript. On a paid plan or trial, rehearsal is available only when a practice exercise matches your main coaching need, carrying that coaching into a fictional scenario instead of leaving it in a persona library.

Who uses AI sales roleplay?

SDRs practicing cold openers

Upload or paste a call transcript. RepVolt shows the line where the opener or the objection went wrong. On a paid plan or trial, rehearsal is available only when a practice exercise matches your main coaching need. The rep can run it between call blocks. See how RepVolt works for SDRs.

AEs running discovery

A buyer names weekly rework, but the rep moves on without sizing it. RepVolt quotes that exchange and ranks the impact question first. On a paid plan or trial, rehearsal is available only when a practice exercise matches your main coaching need. They get another attempt without pretending the scenario is the same buyer or the same conversation.

Managers onboarding new hires

On the paid Team plan or its trial, managers see which calls need review and follow the rehearsals reps completed when the main coaching need had a matching drill. The review flag itself cannot assign practice. New reps open an eligible rehearsal from their own call review, save the result, and open it in the next 1:1.

Solo reps coaching themselves

Not everyone has a manager who coaches. At a lot of companies, coaching is a quarterly event, not a daily habit. RepVolt gives those reps a way to coach themselves. Upload or paste a call transcript. Read the areas to improve. On a paid plan or trial, rehearsal is available only when a practice exercise matches your main coaching need. Then check a later real call. No waiting for someone else to notice the problem.

RepVolt vs. generic AI roleplay tools

There are several AI roleplay tools on the market: Hyperbound, Second Nature, PitchMonster, Quantified. They all let you practice against an AI buyer, and they are built around a library of scenarios you choose from. Upload or paste a call transcript. Here is how that changes the RepVolt session.

The tools above are good products. Hyperbound's voice quality is impressive. Second Nature has solid onboarding scenario libraries. They are built for practice you choose: you pick the scenario, run it, and get feedback on it. Upload or paste a call transcript. A call you already ran gives RepVolt the evidence and areas to improve. On a paid plan or trial, rehearsal is available only when a practice exercise matches your main coaching need, carrying that coaching into a focused fictional scenario.

Review the call. Choose the skills to develop. On a paid plan or trial, rehearsal is available only when a practice exercise matches your main coaching need. Then look at a later call before deciding whether to keep working it or move down the list. A higher rehearsal score describes that practice attempt; it does not prove the behavior changed on live calls.

The pricing works differently too. The enterprise tiers of those tools are generally quoted on a demo rather than published, so the number arrives after the conversation. RepVolt is $29 a month for one person, or $24 per seat at the founding rate with a 3-seat minimum, so $72 a month for a team of 3. Month to month. Cancel anytime.

What a roleplay session looks like

Example data. The people and the call below are invented. This paid-plan or trial example assumes the main coaching need has a matching drill.

The call evidence

Avery Cole finishes a discovery call with Dana Mercer, VP of Operations at Example Operations Group, about the weekly rework created by manual handoffs. RepVolt reviews the completed transcript. At 18:42 Dana says, “Sales ops and three regional managers usually reconcile it twice a week.”

The main coaching need

The coaching ranks impact questions first: Avery talked about likely time savings before pinning down what the rework costs today. Avery can read the line from the call and see the behavior to change before starting practice. The score stays nearby as context.

The rehearsal brief

RepVolt carries that behavior and relevant context into a new fictional scenario. The original transcript stays where it is. It is not replayed as the rehearsal.

The next line

Avery starts with: “Roughly how many forecast changes need rework in a normal week?” The rehearsal stays focused on asking for one current-state number before proposing a pilot.

Avery answers turn by turn while the coach keeps the session on the objective and offers a way back when it goes sideways.

The result

RepVolt saves a score for the drill. If it has a score from before and after, the debrief shows both. If not, it shows the one it has instead of inventing an improvement. Real calls stay separate, so whether the practice carried over is measured rather than claimed.

Frequently asked questions

Does AI roleplay replace practice with a manager or peer?

No. On a paid plan or trial, rehearsal is available only when a practice exercise matches your main coaching need. That rehearsal sits alongside practice with your manager or a peer. The saved review offers a new fictional scenario. A human partner still brings judgment, deal context, and back-and-forth a generated scenario cannot reproduce.

Does the scenario recreate the buyer from my call?

No. On a paid plan or trial, rehearsal is available only when a practice exercise matches your main coaching need. RepVolt uses the selected coaching and relevant call context to create a new fictional scenario. It does not recreate, impersonate, or predict the real buyer. You use the scenario to rehearse a behavior, then check a later call for carryover.

Can I pick any scenario from a library?

Not in the call-to-coaching path. Upload or paste a call transcript. On a paid plan or trial, rehearsal is available only when a practice exercise matches your main coaching need. The saved review shows that rehearsal. The scenario does not recreate the buyer.

How long does a roleplay session take?

On a paid plan or trial, rehearsal is available only when a practice exercise matches your main coaching need. That rehearsal runs about 3 minutes: short enough to fit between call blocks or before a meeting, and focused on a specific skill. Reviewing the call itself takes a bit longer or shorter depending on how long the transcript is and how busy we are.

What skills can I practice?

On a paid plan or trial, rehearsal is available only when a practice exercise matches your main coaching need. Matching drills cover discovery, objection handling, negotiation, closing, cold-call openers, getting past a gatekeeper, qualification, and setting the meeting. Your saved call review shows when one is ready.
